Wireless Vibration and Noise Monitoring
Construction industry uses vibration tranducers as both environmental and structural detectors. While noise sensors are purely environmental. Dwellers nowadays are more educated. They see environmental disturbance as nuisance in their everyday life. Therefore, more contractors and client are arming themselves with environmental data as prove to their work schedules. It is definitely cheaper to have monitoring devices compared to environmental or government officers calling for 'Stop Work' order. Structural monitoring on vibration are more mandatory as they provide potentially destructive information on neighboring structures.
How does it work? Vibration measures the velocity from magnetic coils within the tranducer. As the velocity increases, it provides a higher change in electrical output from the tri-directional magnetic coils. Translating these changes elctrically, converts measurement into velocity. Noise monitoring is measured in decibels. It converts noise detected from the michrophone into electrical output and converts these into decibels. These instruments can be used in structural detection, machinery monitoring, wastage determination in production line, earthquake and others. Both instrument can be isolated measurement device and the readings can be viewed online with above threshold readings reported via SMS.
